D STROY "More Than Beats & Rhymes"
$7.00
"More Than Beats and Rhymes" represents what D-Stroy has to offer hip hop.
"More Than Beats and Rhymes" Mix CD is typical of D-Stroy's musical and lyrical style. The frantic delivery on "Bravo" Ft. Grammy Award winner Miri Ben-Ari (Hip Hop Violinist), explosive energy on "Time is Now" Ft. Freestyle & Snowgoons and humor on "Esto Es Lo Que Eh" Ft. Q-Unique & Tony Touch melt through rap's icy demeanor. Cartoon themes in "1993" Ft. Pharoah Monche and sly humor of "Show must go on" Ft. Del The Funky Homosapien are part of his arsenal, but then again, so are deeply-felt stances regarding artistry and skills on "Scan The Field" featuring Shabazz The Disciple (Wu-Affiliate).
His standout vocal style, and loony, ribald wordplay over the production of Marco Polo, Hi-Tek, Psycho Les (Beatnuts) and more is admired by rap cliques from hardcore gangsters and pimps. This mix CD cleverly meshes D-Stroy's singles (never released on CD), his cameo appearances, unreleased material and memorable joints with Big Daddy Kane, D.J. Premier, D.J. Eclipse and Crazy Legs (Rock Steady Crew). "More Than Beats and Rhymes" will be the soundtrack for when you want to "Go Bonkers".
The lates LP from Jise, The "Chronicles 2 ", is the ideal follow up to jise's previous "The Lt.Worf Chronicles".... After a grueling few months of digging for "Lost tapes", creating new burners, chucking songs to make way for bigger bangers? We finally finished the long awaited collection of songs to follow up the first "Lt.Worf Chronicles" release. Hopefully this can hold people down until Jise can finish a few anticipated projects that will be following this 2nd and last installment of the "Chronicles" series. This release is a full album, unlike the previous which was blended together. Jise is joined by an elite group of guests such as Pacewon, Q-Unique, Arsonists, IDE, Alucard and more. Packed with a mixture of international and local producers such as Q-Unique, Dj Caique, R1, IDE and many more. Creative Juices has put together a smashing, roller-coaster of a journey. Another head banger out that is sure to please any genre of music head.
Rising from the ashes of New York's dog-eat-dog underground scene were the five spontaneously combustible members making up Arsonists: Q-Unique, D-Stroy, Freestyle, Swel Boogie, and Jise One. Fundamentally sound and immersed in hip-hop's old-school heritage, Arsonists amiably keep everything in-house for their debut (which is nearly unheard of nowadays), as there is no outside production or industry-related collaborations. A sumptuously diverse group, each of Arsonists brings differentiating lyrical styles, yet together they manage to mesh into a group setting. Arsonists burn the competition with the expedited cadences of "Blaze," while upholding their vowel to preserve hip-hop's four essential elements with "Flashback." Dispensing a plethora of spit-boxing exhibitions, they give a consummate New York verbal flogging to "Shaboing," the flame-broiled "Venom," and the slow-burning "Worlds Collide." Arsonists have not arrived — they have emerged, and hip-hop is undeniably a purer place because of it.
ARSONISTS "DATE OF BIRTH"
If hip-hop were a sport, the Arsonists would have been considered all-stars years ago. The crew, which began 13 members strong in Bushwick, Brooklyn back in 1993, has since been reduced. No longer the size of a football team, but pared down to a compact three-man group, the trio has developed a signature mode of expression that has earned them a loyal international following. September 2001, their eagerly awaited second album dropped on the public. A more mature, thoughtful sophomore effort through which they could be reborn, hence the title Date of Birth. Concentrating on smarter song structure, melody and provoking lyrics, the Arsonists developed an LP rich with head-nodding cuts, from the piano-laced crew manifesto "We Be About" to the haunting sounds of "Language Arts," the funky "Space Junk" with Kinetic Energy and the gothic, string heavy "Alive," which details the group’s triumphant rise above struggle and adversity. "Self-Righteous Spics (Anthem)," produced by the Beatnuts’ Psycho Les, is a high energy track guaranteed to get you moving, while "Millionaire" is a hilariously clever take on the popular Regis Philbin game show.

Between Heaven & Hell
$8.00
Back in the late '90s New York indie-rap heyday, the Arsonists were one of the most exciting and revered acts around, city-raised B-boys known for neck-breaking beats, razor-sharp lyricism, and explosive live shows. Q-Unique was one of their standout members, and though the group has been disbanded for many years, he continues to release quality music on his own. His second solo joint following 2004's Vengeance Is Mine, Between Heaven and Hell finds him keeping it real to the utmost, refusing to concede to current trends by changing up his dense wordplay or ear for relentlessly rugged production. His storytelling verses tackle everything from pre-Giuliani NYC ("Crack Era") to small-time robbery gone bad ("Mr. Lopez"), while getting a hand from co-conspirators such as Ill Bill, Mr. Hyde, Jise, Slaine, plus Arsonist homies D Stroy and Freestyle on "Questions." This is music for people who still like their hip-hop grimy, and preferred Times Square with more peep shows and less Applebee's.
